Do They Know It's Christmas?

Fucked Up - Do They Know It's Christmas?

I don't really celebrate Christmas. But coming across this version of the legendary song made me appreciate the significance of it.
This song features voices of Andrew W.K., Bob Mould, David Cross, Ezra Koenig, GZA, Kevin Drew, Kyp Malone, Tegan and Sara, Yo La Tengo along with Fucked Up.
Whoever said a chorus of voices from such different music genres couldn't come together in celebration of something great?

The amazing thing about this song, which you can purchase on iTunes is that ALL profits of this song will go directly towards 3 charities in Canada.
Justice for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (in Montreal), DTES Power of Women Group (in Vancouver), and Sisters in Spirit (in Ottawa).

If you feel the need to help our cities in some way, but you're lacking the financial donations. Buying this song would greatly help these amazing charities/organizations, you also have a really amazing Christmas tune to add to your Christmas mixtape. Play it while you bake gingerbread cookies or decorate your tree with ornaments.

Listen to the song here.

Fucked Up?

I LOVE this band.
This band is gold. Their music is loud, melodic and sweet.
It's perfect for a walk in -0 degrees. It makes you walk a little faster.
You walk with a little hop in your step, or maybe two.

They won this years' Polaris Music Prize of $20, 000. This goes to the Canadian band with the highest artistic merit. Fucked Up deserved this and I couldn't be happier.
I was so excited for them. I rememeber listenng to the live broadcast on CBC Radio 3.
They were up against Metric, Great Lake Swimmers and Malajube.
